They are then reviewed by at least one anonymous reviewer. The final decision on acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief.<\/li>\n<li>The journal accepts papers written in Polish, as well as papers written in English with a Polish summary. Short communications are published only in Polish and must include an equivalent title in English.<\/li>\n<li>All articles are published online on the journal website as soon as they are ready. <strong><em>Publication in Fragmenta Naturae<\/em> is free of charge.<\/strong> All published papers are freely available on the journal website.<\/li>\n<li>Manuscripts should be submitted only electronically to the e-mail address of the Editor-in-Chief. If the total size of attachments is larger than 25 MB (photographs, figures, etc.), the files should be sent using publicly available online services. For manuscripts written in English by foreign authors, the Editorial Board will translate the title and summary into Polish.<\/li>\n<li>Each author must provide an affiliation or correspondence address, together with an e-mail address. In papers with several authors, one author should be indicated as the corresponding author. If no corresponding author is indicated, the Editorial Board will consider the first author to be the corresponding author.<\/li>\n<li>The manuscript must include a concise abstract in English and key words in English. This requirement does not apply to short communications.<\/li>\n<li>Authors should provide a short running title of no more than 50 characters, including spaces.<\/li>\n<li>All figures, photographs, and other graphic materials should be submitted as separate files. Figure captions should be placed at the end of the manuscript.<\/li>\n<li>Tables, together with their captions, should be submitted in a separate text file.<\/li>\n<li>The manuscript should be prepared in a format compatible with Windows, as a <code dir=\"ltr\">.doc<\/code> or <code dir=\"ltr\">.docx<\/code> file.<\/li>\n<li>Photographs and figures should be submitted as <code dir=\"ltr\">.jpg<\/code> or <code dir=\"ltr\">.tif<\/code> files without compression.<\/li>\n<li>The manuscript should be prepared using Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.<\/li>\n<li>All taxonomic names at genus level and below should be written in italics. <strong>Please do not use any other text formatting or emphasis in the manuscript.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All taxonomic names at family level and below should be given at least once in full, including the author and year of description.<\/li>\n<li>All works cited in the text must be included in the References, except in short communications (see below).<\/li>\n<li>The sources of photographs and figures must be cited. We do not recommend using graphic materials taken from the Internet unless the author has obtained direct permission from the copyright owner to use them.<\/li>\n<li>The Editorial Board of <em>Fragmenta Naturae<\/em> is not responsible for any unauthorised use of materials by authors of submitted manuscripts.<\/li>\n<li>The Editorial Board reserves the right to correct language errors and shorten texts. If the manuscript contains serious language problems requiring substantial rewriting, the author is responsible for language correction after consultation with the Editorial Board.<br \/>\n<h2 data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Citation format<\/h2>\n<ul data-spread=\"true\">\n<li>All authors of a cited publication should be listed in the References.<\/li>\n<li>Citations in the text should be presented in chronological order and separated by commas, for example: Nowak 1998, Iksi\u0144ski 2000.<\/li>\n<li>For a paper with two authors, use the conjunction \u201ci\u201d in Polish texts or \u201c&amp;\u201d in English texts, for example: Mazur i Jasi\u0144ski 2000 or Mazur &amp; Jasi\u0144ski 2000. For papers with three or more authors, use the following form in the text: Nowak et al. 2001.<\/li>\n<li>The References must include all works cited in the manuscript. References should be arranged alphabetically and, in the case of several publications by the same author, chronologically.<\/li>\n<li>Several publications by the same author published in the same year should be distinguished by lowercase letters placed after the year, for example: Trojan 1987a, 1987b.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The format of references should be as follows:<\/p>\n<h3>Journal articles<\/h3>\n<p>Mas\u0142owski A. 2010.
